Makeup Ingredients

Makeup ingredients can be confusing and overwhelming.

There are hundreds of ingredients that can be used to create makeup. Some of them are natural, some are man-made. Some are vegan and some are made from animal products. There are even some companies that create their products with illegal ingredients.

MTCoffinz has spent tireless hours checking all of our ingredients to make sure they are safe, natural, and vibrant. We will make you beautiful safely!

These are the ingredients that we use. If you have any other questions, please ask.

  • Amihope LL: (vegan) An amino acid based powder from the amino acid L-Lysine derived from natural coconut oils. It gives very smooth, soft and silky feeling.
  • Carnauba Wax: (vegan) Copernicia cerifera Derived from palm leaves; used for gloss and texture in balms.
  • Castor Oil: (vegan) Ricinus communis Derived from the castor bean/seed; emollient used for soothing and protective properties.
  • Cycopentasiloxane: (vegan) Cyclopentasiloxane (or CPS for short) is one of many types of silicones. In general, silicones are known for their ability to lubricate, waterproof and provide shine. There are many types of silicones – some have a very heavy, sticky consistency and others are very lightweight. CPS is a water-thin so it’s very good at dispersing thicker, greasier silicones. For this reason it’s often used in combination with dimethicone.
  • Dimethicone Cross Polymer: (vegan) Silicone derivative used as a stabilizing or suspending agent or as a thickener. One of the most widely used ingredients in cosmetics, dimethicone works as an anti-foaming agent, skin protectant and skin & hair conditioner- it prevents water loss by forming a hydrating barrier on the skin. Like most silicones, this ingredient has a unique fluidity that makes it easily spreadable. When applied to the skin, its known for creating a subtle gloss that feels smooth and silky to touch. It also acts as a mild water repellent by forming a protective barrier on the skin, and can fill in fine lines/wrinkles on the face, giving it a temporary “plump” look.
  • Iron Oxide: (vegan) Derived from iron combined with oxygen; provides natural mineral coloring for cosmetics.
  • Jojoba Oil: (vegan) Liquid wax produced in the seed of the jojoba plant (Simmondsia chinensis). It is a moisturizer that will not evaporate. Jojoba oil is a fungicide for controlling mildew.
  • Mica: (vegan) Earth mineral included in products to give them sparkle and shine. It is the main coloring Agent/Pigment.
  • Octyl Palmitate: (vegan) Derived from palm oil; is an emollient that gives skin a soft and smooth appearance. It has a dry-sleep feel that is similar to silicone’s texture. For this reason, it is often used as a substitute for silicones in cosmetic products.
  • T-50 Vitamin E Oil: (vegan) Vitamin E contains natural antioxidants that extend the life of your products (preservative). Gamma tocopherol, a component of Vitamin E, is a great antioxidant for protecting cosmetic formulations. T-50 has a larger amount of gamma tocopherols than other forms of Vitamin E oil.
  • Titanium Dioxide: (vegan) A natural white mineral pigment. It protects skin from sun damage by reflecting back the UVA [aging] and UVB [burning] rays.
  • Zinc Sterate: (vegan) The zinc salt of stearic acid. It is used as a colorant and anti caking agent. Also functions as a slip agent and thickening agent. (Alternate spelling Zinz Stearate)
